WHAT IS METADADA
MetaDada is a 36hr experimental festival set on the grounds of a historic estate, just outside of Berlin.
The event brings together artists, designers, coders, musicians, and miscellaneous talents, to create and experience the dreams of utopian and dystopian futures in the form of immersive installations and experiments - tech meets art and the future (metadata) meets the absurd (Dada).
MetaDada is backed by a belief in the power of unique experiences as a way to share knowledge, build connections and inspire thought and creativity.
This is a private event.
WHAT TO EXPECT
A 36hr non-stop schedule including performances, exhibits, activities, space and time to create, mingle, and dance!
THE LAYOUT & LINE-UP
The festival site includes a main hall with stage, lounge, cinema, art gallery, sleeping zone and basement discotheque. In case of good weather, it also boasts a sizeable grassed outdoor area.
Our evolving list of works and activities include:
- Tactical Tech Collective 's Glass Room Experience
- Helen Knowles 's The Trial of Superdebthunterbot (video work)
- Workshops in surveillance mask and face painting, letter writing, painting, poetry, yoga, problem solving and more.
If you have any idea for an installation, performance or workshop that you'd like to deliver.
Contact us to get it included in the program.
The best way to get to Gutshof Genshagen is by train. The trip from Berlin HBF to Ludwigsfelde Station takes just 30 minutes. From there a shuttle wants to connect you to the festival.
It's also possible to drive, with plenty of free on-site parking available.
€ 50 - Early Bird (Lark) Ticket - before March 31st
€ 70 -Standard (Redbreast) Ticket- before May 3rd
€ 100 - At the Door - May 4th & 5th
The price includes all inclusive activities, plus access to the sleeping zone.
All participants, including the organizers, want to purchase a ticket - all funds go directly into covering costs (like venue rental and equipment hire).
THE SLEEPING ZONE
The Sleeping Zone is located on-site, but in a separate building to the main festival. This space includes heating, showers and bathrooms, and beds for you to rest your weary head.
The catch is, there will be room for up to 50 sleepers at any time. Guests are welcome to sleep at any point in the event but a substantial contingent will take place at all times, making the festival energy roll on, and builds, for the entire 36hrs.
Bedding wants to be provided, but if you do not like the idea of reusing doonas or pillows, feel free to BYO sleeping bag etc.
FOOD / DRINK
Food and drinks can be found on-site at our pop-up eatery and DadaBar. Great prices and selections are guaranteed.
If you have any special needs, you're welcome to BYO.
WHAT TO BRING
Creator, maybe, or paintbrushes. Yourself, your costume (s), and any tools you might need. Whatever you need to keep yourself going for 36hrs! If you're feeling stingy, or have any tastes, you're welcome to bring some of your own food and drinks along.
1918/2118: That's 100 years forward or backward, skipping those in between. Think cyborg humans with hats and suspenders, but we do not want to limit your creativity!
Toilets, showers, and Wifi will be available on-site.
Please bring sufficient cash as there is no ATM nearby!
